Stress measurement in hydrogen gas

Sensors UK Ltd is pleased to announce what is thought to be the first gauge ever to be produced for accurate stress measurements in Hydrogen environments while under high pressure.

Strain gauges usually suffer from a high level of resistance change when used in Hydrogen environments making accurate testing difficult. The new KFV gauge minimises this induced strain under pressure to 90Mpa for over twenty hours.

The 350ohm linear gauge has a special 2mm FeCr alloy foil and has working temperatures of -30 to 80ºC while being as easy to install as general purpose gauges.

Industries where this gauge is of particular importance include Power and Energy fields and R&D for fuel cells and batteries.
